Fiji Airways - “Welcome to our Home”

Early on in pre-production we explored the best way to produce this project alongside the agency and photographer. The locations were remote and so transporting airline chairs did not make good sense logistically. Going down the 3D route also had an advantage of being able to use the latest chair models and keep budget costs down. We were supplied real examples of the chair materials and were able to get them built in 3D and finished before the shoots. This meant that they could be used to previsualize the scene before and on shoot. The next stage involved capturing HDRIs and planning out the lighting whilst on the location shoot. From there, the talent was shot in a studio and lit to match the lighting of the scenes. The end result was a photo-real composite from three different image sources. Early conversation and planning gave everyone a real advantage in getting the best result from photography and CGI.
